Biography
James Hamilton is a British screenwriter specialising in animation and comedy. Originally from London, he is based in Los Angeles.
He wrote more than fifty episodes of Cartoon Network’s The Amazing World of Gumball across seasons four, five and six (2015–2019). He co-developed and served as head writer on the Netflix series Dogs in Space (2021) and was head writer on Jentry Chau vs the Underworld (2024).
His other credits include episodes of Unikitty!, Bravest Warriors, Space Chickens in Space and Love Monster. He created the sketch troupe Casual Violence and has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. An episode of Gumball that he co-wrote won two British Animation Awards, and he received an Emmy nomination for Jentry Chau vs the Underworld.
