Biography
James Needs (17 October 1919 – 2003) was a British film editor. He began his career in 1935 as an assistant editor at Islington Studios in London, later working at Shepherd's Bush Studios where he became an editor by 1948. He joined Hammer Film Productions the following year and remained associated with the studio for much of his career.
From 1958 to 1969 he served as supervising editor at Hammer, overseeing post-production on numerous productions. He is credited as editor or supervising editor on films including The Curse of Frankenstein (1957), Dracula (1958), The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959), The Quatermass Xperiment (1955), Quatermass and the Pit (1967), The Vampire Lovers (1970) and Dracula A.D. 1972 (1972).
