Biography
James William Newport is a production designer and art director. He worked as production designer on Nice Dreams (1981), in which he also appeared as the character Grow Room Weirdo / Weird Jimmy. His early credits include production design on Over the Edge (1979) and art direction on Elvis (1979).
Newport has production design credits on films including The Stepfather (1987), Fatal Beauty (1987), Brokedown Palace (1999) and Bangkok Dangerous (2008). He served as art director on Mechanic: Resurrection (2016). Television work includes episodes of Lost (2008) and The Shield (2002). He has received Primetime Emmy nominations for his production design.
