Biography
János Derzsi is a Hungarian actor. Born on 20 April 1954 in Nyírábrány, he has appeared in more than eighty films since 1979.
He is known for his collaborations with director Béla Tarr, appearing in six of Tarr's films between 1982 and 2011. These include Sátántangó (1994) as Kráner, Werckmeister Harmonies (2000), The Man from London (2008) as Brown and The Turin Horse (2011) as Ohlsdorfer. Other notable roles include parts in Kontroll (2003), White God (2014) and 1945 (2017).
Derzsi graduated from the Színház acting school in Budapest in 1982 and has performed at several Hungarian theatres, including the Vörösmarty Színház since 2013. He received the Jászai Mari Prize in 1992.
