Biography

Jason Baldwin, also credited as Charles Jason Baldwin, is an American actor and advocate best known for his appearances as himself in documentaries concerning the West Memphis Three case. Born on 11 April 1977 in West Memphis, Arkansas, he was convicted in 1994, alongside Damien Echols and Jessie Misskelley Jr., of the 1993 murders of three eight-year-old boys. The convictions attracted widespread attention through the HBO trilogy beginning with Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills (1996).

Baldwin was released from prison in August 2011 after entering an Alford plea. He has since appeared in further documentaries including West of Memphis (2012) and Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory (2012). He served as executive producer on the 2013 feature Devil's Knot. Baldwin has worked in construction and advocacy, co-founding the nonprofit Proclaim Justice to support those wrongfully convicted.
