Biography
Jatin Pandit is an Indian film composer, best known as one half of the duo Jatin-Lalit with his brother Lalit Pandit. The pair composed the music for numerous Hindi films in the 1990s and early 2000s, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000), Chalte Chalte (2003) and Fanaa (2006).
They come from a musical family with roots in Haryana and were trained by their father, Pandit Pratap Narayan; their uncle was the classical vocalist Pandit Jasraj. The duo began working together in the early 1990s after earlier collaborations involving Jatin and their elder brother. Their soundtracks frequently featured for Shah Rukh Khan films and achieved wide commercial success. The brothers have worked independently since 2006.
