Biography
Javier Navarrete is a Spanish film score composer. Born in Teruel, he began scoring films in Spain in the mid-1980s and has worked on numerous Spanish productions including The Devil's Backbone (2001).
He is best known for his score to Pan's Labyrinth (2006), directed by Guillermo del Toro, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score. His other credits include Inkheart (2008), Mirrors (2008), Wrath of the Titans (2012), Byzantium (2013) and Sound of Freedom (2023). Navarrete won a Primetime Emmy Award for his work on the HBO film Hemingway & Gellhorn.
