Biography
Choi Jae-won is a South Korean film producer and investor. He began his career as a securities analyst at a venture capital firm before introducing one of South Korea's first dedicated film investment funds. He has held senior roles including CEO positions at iPictures, Barunson E&A and Next Entertainment World, and served as head of Warner Bros. Korea.
Choi has produced or executive-produced numerous films, including Memories of Murder (2003), A Tale of Two Sisters (2003), The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008), The Attorney (2013) and The Age of Shadows (2016). In 2020 he co-founded Anthology Studio with director Kim Jee-woon and actor Song Kang-ho, serving as its CEO. He was appointed to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) for a term from 2020 to 2022 and served as its vice chairman from 2021.
He won Best Producer at the 14th Director's Cut Awards for The Attorney.
