Biography
Jean Dixon, also credited as Jean Jacques, was an American stage and film actress. Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, she studied in France and appeared in walk-on roles with Sarah Bernhardt's company before returning to the United States.
She made her Broadway debut in 1926 and appeared in numerous stage productions, including comedies by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart. Her film roles included Molly in My Man Godfrey (1936), Bonnie Graham in You Only Live Once (1937) and Susan Potter in Holiday (1938). She was married to Edward Stevenson Ely from 1936 until his death in 1980.
