Biography
Jean-François Lepetit is a French film producer and founder of the production company Flach Film. Born on 12 September 1953 in Caudéran, Bordeaux, he studied sociology at the Université de Bordeaux III after completing a baccalauréat littéraire and an IUT in social careers. At age 15 he founded a cine-club in Bordeaux and later managed the regional film library for the Ligue de l'Enseignement, organising cinema events in Aquitaine.
He moved to Paris in 1982 to work in distribution at Films Molière and Twentieth Century Fox before establishing Flach Film in 1983. Lepetit produced Coline Serreau's Three Men and a Cradle (1985) and served as executive producer on its Hollywood remakes 3 Men and a Baby (1987) and 3 Men and a Little Lady (1990). He has maintained a long collaboration with Catherine Breillat, producing or co-producing Romance (1999), Fat Girl (2001), Anatomy of Hell (2004) and Abuse of Weakness (2013), among other films.
