Biography
Jean L'Hôte (13 January 1929 – 28 April 1985) was a French screenwriter and film director. He co-wrote the screenplay for Jacques Tati's Mon Oncle (1958) alongside Tati and Jacques Lagrange.
He began in television and documentary work before his novel La Communale and short films brought him to Tati's attention. He subsequently collaborated with Roberto Rossellini and others, and went on to write and direct numerous feature films and television productions between 1958 and 1985.
L'Hôte died in Nancy, France.
