Biography
Jean-Paul Rouve is a French actor, screenwriter and film director. Born on 26 January 1967 in Malo-les-Bains, near Dunkerque, he trained at the Cours Florent drama school in Paris under Isabelle Nanty and was a founding member of the comedy troupe Les Robins des Bois.
He came to public attention in the 1990s through the troupe and took recurring supporting roles in French cinema during the 2000s. Notable credits include Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra (2002), A Very Long Engagement (2004), Those Happy Days (2006) and La Vie en Rose (2007). He won the César Award for Most Promising Actor in 2003 for Monsieur Batignole and has played Jeff Tuche in the Les Tuche comedy series. Rouve has also directed films including The Easy Way (2008) and Lola et ses frères (2018).
