Biography
Jean-Philippe Bernier is a Canadian cinematographer and composer born on 20 March 1979 in Montréal, Quebec. He is also known for his work as part of the electronic music duo Le Matos, which he co-founded with Jean-Nicolas Leupi in 2007.
Bernier has served as director of photography on feature films including Turbo Kid (2015), Summer of 84 (2018), Dinner in America (2020), Snack Shack (2024) and Carolina Caroline (2025). He has frequently collaborated with the Montréal filmmaking collective RKSS and has composed scores, often with Le Matos, for several of these projects.
