Biography
Jean-Pierre Dorat is a French actor and dubbing director. Born Jean-Pierre Goldblatt on 10 May 1937, he is the son of actor and dubbing adaptor Charles Dorat.
His acting credits include the role of Jean in Jacques Demy’s The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964), as well as appearances in Lucky Jo (1964), A Woman in White (1965), Le franciscain de Bourges (1968), Strogoff (1970) and the television series Les gens de Mogador (1972–1973).
Dorat later became a prominent directeur artistique, supervising French dubs for numerous international films including the X-Men series and the second and third Star Wars trilogies. He retired after directing the French version of Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017).
