Biography
Jean-Pierre Dorléac was an American costume designer who worked in film, television and theatre. Born Jerome Benson Paine on 12 April 1943 in San Bernardino, California, he began his career in Los Angeles theatre in the early 1970s and first used the name Dorléac for a 1973 staging of Marat/Sade.
His film credits include Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979), The Blue Lagoon (1980), Somewhere in Time (1980), for which he received an Academy Award nomination, Heart and Souls (1993) and In Enemy Hands (2004). On television he designed for Battlestar Galactica (1978), winning an Emmy, and for all four seasons of Quantum Leap (1989–1993), among many other series. He received a second Emmy for The Lot (2001).
