Biography
Jeff Lowell was an American writer and producer. Born in November 1973 in New York, he began his career in the mid-1990s writing for sitcoms including The Drew Carey Show, Spin City and Cybill. He later worked as a writer-producer on series such as Sports Night, Just Shoot Me!, Inside Schwartz and Common Law.
Lowell wrote the screenplay for the feature film John Tucker Must Die (2006). He wrote and directed Over Her Dead Body (2008) and co-wrote Hotel for Dogs (2009). On television he contributed story and teleplay episodes to Two and a Half Men (2013–2015), created the series Manhattan Love Story (2014) and The Crew (2021), and served as executive producer on The Ranch (2016–2020). He died on 24 August 2026 in Virginia.
