Biography
Jehanne d'Alcy, also credited as Jeanne d'Alcy, was a French actress. Born Charlotte Lucie Marie Adèle Stephanie Adrienne Faës on 20 March 1865 in Vaujours, she performed at the Théâtre Robert-Houdin in Paris from the late 1880s and appeared in numerous short films by Georges Méliès.
Her credits include Le manoir du diable (1896), The Vanishing Lady (1896), After the Ball (1897), Cinderella (1899), Bluebeard (1901) and A Trip to the Moon (1902), in which she played the secretary, a star and a rocket attendant. She also worked as a costume designer on some productions.
D'Alcy married Méliès in 1925. She appeared as herself in the framing sequences of Le Grand Méliès (1952). She died on 14 October 1956 in Versailles.
