Biography
Jennie Snyder Urman is an American television writer and producer. She was born on 6 June 1975 in Rye, New York, and graduated from Princeton University with a BA in English in 1999.
Urman began her career as a staff writer on the ABC sitcom Hope & Faith (2003–2006). She subsequently worked on Gilmore Girls (2006–2007) as a writer and co-producer, followed by producing and writing roles on Men in Trees, Lipstick Jungle and 90210. She created the series Emily Owens, M.D. (2012–2013) and Jane the Virgin (2014–2019), and has also worked on Reign, Charmed (2018) and Matlock (2024).
