Biography
Jerry Austin (born Jerry Albro) was an American actor and vaudeville performer. He was born on 20 July 1892 in Odessa, then part of the Russian Empire (now Ukraine), and stood 3 ft 6 in (1.07 m) tall. He was often billed as “Little Jerry” and appeared in stage productions including Clair de Lune (1921) with John and Ethel Barrymore and the Broadway play Here Come the Clowns (1938) as Major Armstrong.
Austin’s film credits include the uncredited role of the Knife-Throwing Dwarf in Freaks (1932), Cupidon in Saratoga Trunk (1945), Don Sebastian in Adventures of Don Juan (1948), the Grocer in The Lovable Cheat (1949), and an uncredited Jester in Samson and Delilah (1949). He also appeared as Tobo in the 1949 series Life of St. Paul and made a television appearance on Mohawk Showroom in 1950. He died on 15 October 1976 in Los Angeles County, California.
