Biography
Jerry Gross (1940–2002) was an American film producer and distributor active in independent and exploitation cinema. He produced Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song (1971) with Melvin Van Peebles and I Drink Your Blood (1971).
Gross founded Cinemation Industries and later the Jerry Gross Organization. He specialised in sensational marketing for grindhouse and drive-in releases, including I Spit on Your Grave (1978) and The Boogey Man (1980). He also handled distribution for other independent titles.
Born in New York City, Gross attended New York City College. He died in Los Angeles in 2002.
