Biography
Jerry Rees is an American film director, screenwriter and animator. Born on 15 November 1956 in Johnson County, Texas, he trained at the California Institute of the Arts and began his career as an animator at Walt Disney Studios.
Rees is best known for directing and co-writing the screenplay for the animated feature The Brave Little Toaster (1987), which received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Animated Program. He also directed the live-action comedy The Marrying Man (1991). Earlier credits include work as a visual effects supervisor on Tron (1982) and animation on Disney features such as The Fox and the Hound (1981).
Rees has directed numerous Disney theme park attractions and continues to work in film, animation and trans-media projects.
