Biography
Jerry Stovin (1922–2005) was a Canadian actor who appeared in British film and television productions. He played John Farlow in Stanley Kubrick's Lolita (1962) and had roles in Hell Drivers (1957) as Chick Keithley and The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976) as an aide. He also appeared in episodes of The Saint (1962–1965) and other series including Emergency Ward 10.
Born in Unity, Saskatchewan, Stovin served with the Canadian Army in Germany after the Second World War. He trained at the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he earned a degree in drama. He later moved to Britain to pursue acting opportunities and appeared in stage productions such as The Sport of My Mad Mother and The Ides of March.
In later years Stovin worked as a potter and was involved with the Transcendental Meditation movement, including a visit to the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in Rishikesh in 1968.
