Biography
Jerzy Zieliński is a Polish cinematographer. Born on 8 January 1950 in Szczecin, he graduated from the National Film School in Łódź and began his career in Polish cinema in the 1970s.
His breakthrough came with Aria for an Athlete (1979). He made his first English-language feature, Cal (1984), directed by Pat O’Connor, and later collaborated with the director on several films including Stars and Bars (1988) and Private Peaceful (2012). Zieliński moved to the United States in 1993.
He is known for his work on Hollywood productions such as Galaxy Quest (1999), The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003), DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story (2004), The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004) and Fun with Dick and Jane (2005). A member of the American Society of Cinematographers, he retired after credits up to 2018.
