Biography
Jess Ransom is a British writer and actress. She wrote episodes for the animated series The Amazing World of Gumball in seasons 3 to 6 (2014–2019).
Her other writing credits include episodes of Elliott from Earth (2021), the Danger Mouse episode "Live and Let Cry" (2017), and later series of Horrible Histories and Horrible Science. As an actress she is known for playing Morwenna Newcross in the ITV drama Doc Martin (2011–2022) and for her work on Horrible Histories, for which she won a Children's BAFTA Award for Performer in 2015.
Born Jessica Audrey Ransom in Sheffield in 1981, she studied at the University of Birmingham before beginning her career in sketch comedy and television.
