Biography
Jesús Colmenar is a Spanish television director and producer. He began his career directing episodes of series such as Los Hombres de Paco (Paco's Men, 2005) and El Barco (The Boat). He has worked extensively with creator Álex Pina, initially at Globomedia and later at Vancouver Media.
Colmenar directed multiple episodes of Vis a Vis (Locked Up, 2015), El Embarcadero (The Pier, 2019) and Sky Rojo (2021). He served as director and executive producer on Money Heist (La Casa de Papel, 2017), directing the pilot and over twenty episodes across its run. He received an Iris Award for Best Director for the series in 2019.
His recent credits include directing episodes of Billionaires' Bunker (2025). He has also directed the short film Sabine.
