Biography
Jewel Shepard is an American actress, writer and photographer. She is known for her role as Casey in the 1985 film The Return of the Living Dead.
She arrived in California in the 1970s and began working as a stripper and model before meeting filmmaker Dan O'Bannon. Her film debut came in The Junkman (1982), after which she appeared in a number of B movies. She later wrote Invasion of the B-Girls (1992), a book of interviews with cult actresses, and an autobiography, If I'm So Famous, How Come Nobody's Ever Heard of Me? (1996).
Shepard has also contributed writing to publications including Premiere, Cosmopolitan and Details. She appeared uncredited as a flapper starlet in The Artist (2011).
