Biography
Ji-young Yoo is an American actress. Born SunHee Seo on 22 July 1999 in Denver, Colorado, to South Korean parents, she trained at the Colorado Academy, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and the Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School & Camp. She studied Cinema and Media at the University of Southern California before leaving to film the miniseries Expats.
She made her screen debut in the 2021 Netflix film Moxie, credited as SunHee Seo, and adopted her stage name the same year. Subsequent credits include The Sky Is Everywhere (2022), Smoking Tigers (2023), for which she won Best Performance in a U.S. Narrative Feature at the Tribeca Festival, Expats (2024), Freaky Tales (2024), Until Dawn (2025) and the voice of Zoey in the animated film KPop Demon Hunters (2025). She received a Gotham Awards nomination for Outstanding Performance in a Limited Series for Expats.
