Biography
Jia Ling (also credited as 贾玲) is a Chinese comedian, actress, director and screenwriter. She graduated from the crosstalk performance programme at the Central Academy of Drama.
She rose to prominence as a crosstalk performer and variety-show comedian before making her feature directorial debut with Hi, Mom (2021), which she also wrote and starred in as Jia Xiaoling. The film became one of the highest-grossing releases in Chinese cinema history. Her second directorial feature, Yolo (2024), in which she again starred and wrote, set a record for Chinese New Year films.
