Biography
Jill Melford (23 November 1931 – 20 February 2018) was an English actress. The daughter of actor Jack Melford, she attended the Ballet Arts School in New York and made her stage debut there in 1949 as a dancer in Oklahoma!. She later appeared in London stage productions including The Seven Year Itch (1953).
Her screen credits include the role of the younger woman in the restaurant in The Servant (1963), the teacher in Bunny Lake Is Missing (1965), Sheila in The Vengeance of She (1968) and Flora in Edge of Sanity (1989). Television appearances include Irene Cromwell in The Saint (1962), Sheila Rainor in The New Avengers (1976) and a recurring role in the soap Crossroads. She was married to actor John Standing from 1961 to 1972.
