Biography
Jim Steele is a film producer. He began his career in 1988 at Hemdale Films as Director of Business Affairs and International Sales, working on titles including The Last Emperor, Platoon and The Terminator. In 1990 he ran Paul Bartel's North Street Films, and in 1991 co-produced Made in the USSR.
In 1992 Steele joined Working Title Films as Vice President of Production and Acquisitions. He produced the company's black western Posse (1993), directed by Mario Van Peebles. Subsequent credits include co-producing Love & a .45 (1994) and producing The Substitute (1996) and The Arrival (1996). Later projects encompass Blackway (2015), Tales from the Hood 2 (2018), Running with the Devil (2019) and Blackout (2022).
