Biography
Jimena Fernández is a Mexican costume designer. She is credited as costume designer on the 2023 film Tótem, directed by Lila Avilés, for which she received a nomination for Best Costume Design at the 66th Ariel Awards.
She studied Haute Couture and Architecture in Guadalajara, fashion design with a specialty in footwear at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and set design and lighting in Mexico City with Alejandro Luna. She has also studied makeup design and professional styling.
Fernández has worked in costume design for theatre, opera and film, collaborating with directors including Paul Leduc, Carlos Bolado, Lila Avilés, Benjamín Cann and Alejandro González Iñárritu.
