Biography
Jimmy Thompson was an American actor and dancer. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he moved to Los Angeles as a teenager and began working as a freelance performer before serving in the US Army from 1943 to 1945.
After his military service, Thompson appeared in numerous MGM musicals, often in uncredited chorus or supporting roles. He is credited as the Beautiful Girl Singer in Singin' in the Rain (1952), Charlie Chisholm Dalrymple in Brigadoon (1954) — a last-minute replacement — and Crewman Youngerford in Forbidden Planet (1956). He also appeared in Summer Stock (1950) and White Christmas (1954).
His film career was largely confined to the late 1940s and 1950s. He died on 13 August 1962.
