Biography
Jitka Bendová, later known as Jitka Scoffin, is a Czech actress. She is credited under her birth name in several 1960s films, including as student Květa Herodesová in Zlocin v dívcí skole (1966) and as Jitka in Ta tretí (1969).
Her best-known role is as conductor Máša in Jiří Menzel's Closely Watched Trains (1966). Born on 29 December 1946 to diplomat parents, she was fluent in English and accompanied Menzel to the 1968 Academy Awards as his interpreter. She later worked in the script and continuity department, including on Dark Blue World (2001), and lives in London under her married name.
