Biography
Jo Boyer (14 September 1922 – 24 August 2000) was a French trumpeter, composer, arranger and orchestra leader active in jazz and popular music. Born in Perpignan, he led his own orchestra during the Second World War and later worked with musicians including Django Reinhardt, André Hodeir, Charles Trénet and Dizzy Gillespie.
Boyer is credited, often with Eddie Barclay, on the original music for the 1956 film Bob le Flambeur directed by Jean-Pierre Melville. He also appeared as a musician in other films and conducted or arranged for recordings and stage productions through the 1950s and beyond.
