Biography
Joan Standing (21 June 1903 – 3 February 1979) was an English actress. She appeared in more than sixty films between 1919 and 1940, often in supporting roles.
She played Selina in Erich von Stroheim's Greed (1924) and the maid in Dracula (1931). Other credits include uncredited parts in Hell's Angels (1930) and American Madness (1932). Standing came from a theatrical family; she was the granddaughter of actor Herbert Standing and niece of actors Wyndham Standing, Sir Guy Standing, Percy Standing and Jack Standing. She was married to camera operator Otto Pierce.
