Biography
Joe DeMaio is a television director specialising in live events, award shows and series episodes. His early career included a long stint at MTV, where he directed episodes of Unplugged, Total Request Live and Singled Out.
After leaving MTV in 2006, DeMaio directed nearly 800 episodes of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live. He subsequently worked as a freelance director on the MTV Movie Awards, the Primetime Emmys, the VMAs and multiple Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades, among other network specials.
DeMaio has directed episodes of the series Nashville (2012) and the Netflix stand-up special Jerry Seinfeld: 23 Hours to Kill (2020).
