Biography
Joe Leonard is an American film and television editor. A graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, he began his career in post-production working with director Danny Leiner. He has edited episodes of series including Mr. Robot (2019), Star (2016–2019), Dark Matter (2024), Gaslit (2022), Empire (2015) and American Horror Story (2011).
Leonard also directed one episode of Star and wrote and directed the independent feature How I Got Lost (2009). He is a member of the American Cinema Editors, the Motion Picture Editors Guild and the Directors Guild of America, and a co-founder of the Los Angeles film collective We Make Movies. He was born in St. Louis.
