Biography
Joedan Okun is a documentary producer. He produced American Symphony (2023), directed by Matthew Heineman, which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival and was released by Netflix after acquisition by Higher Ground Productions. The film won two Grammy Awards, including Best Music Film, and a Producers Guild of America Award for Best Documentary.
Okun has worked repeatedly with Heineman. He was executive producer on Retrograde (2022) and The First Wave (2021), and co-producer on City of Ghosts (2017). Other credits include producing The Boy from Medellín (2020). He graduated with honours from Wesleyan University and is head of production at Our Time Projects.
