Biography
Joey Murphy is an American screenwriter and television producer. He wrote one episode of the animated series Doug in 1991 and later contributed to sitcoms including The Crew (which he co-created), Cybill and The 5 Mrs. Buchanans.
Murphy joined the writing staff of Desperate Housewives when the series began in 2004. He wrote multiple episodes across its run and rose through the production ranks, serving as consulting producer, co-executive producer and, from season four, executive producer. He has frequently collaborated with writing partner John Pardee. Murphy received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series for his work on the first season of Desperate Housewives.
