Biography

John Arcilla is a Filipino actor. Born on 24 June 1966 in Quezon City, he began his career in theatre and was a resident actor and senior member of the Tanghalang Pilipino Actor Company at the Cultural Center of the Philippines from 1991 to 1997.

He is known for his performances in Heneral Luna (2015) as General Antonio Luna, Metro Manila (2013) as Douglas Ong, The Bourne Legacy (2012) as Joseph, and the television series Dirty Linen (2023) as Carlos Fiero. In 2021 he received the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice International Film Festival for his role in On the Job: The Missing 8, becoming the first Filipino and Southeast Asian actor to win the award; he also won the Gawad Urian Award for Best Actor for the same performance in 2022.
