Biography
John Ashlee Prat is a cinematographer and animator specialising in stop-motion work. He began his career as an animator at Will Vinton Studios and contributed to several claymation television specials in the 1980s and early 1990s.
Prat served as lighting cameraman on the Laika feature Coraline (2009) and lead lighting and camera on ParaNorman (2012). He was director of photography on the studio's The Boxtrolls (2014). He won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1992 for outstanding individual achievement in animation for the television special Claymation Easter.
