Biography
John Daly is a British cinematographer. He began his career in 1976 at the BBC Film Department at Ealing Studios, progressing through the camera department on documentaries, comedy and drama before becoming a cameraman in 1987. His first credit as director of photography was the 1990 BBC film Close Relations.
Daly photographed the 1994 television film Pat and Margaret and episodes of the series Bergerac (1981). He received a BAFTA Television Award for Photography and Lighting for Roger Michell's Persuasion (1995). He won a second BAFTA for the 1998 Granada miniseries Far from the Madding Crowd and left the BBC the same year to work freelance on film and television productions.
