Biography
John Inwood is a cinematographer and director. He studied English literature at Vassar College before completing a graduate degree in directing and cinematography at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. After working as a lighting electrician and gaffer, he began shooting full-time in the 1990s.
His television credits include 150 episodes of Scrubs (2001–2009), for which he received an Emmy nomination, as well as Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015–2019), Girls5eva (2021–2024), Manifest (2018–2020) and Murphy Brown (2018). Feature film work includes The Daytrippers (1997) and Space Cadet (2024). He is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers and has taught at several universities.
