Biography
John Murphy is a film editor based in Ireland. He has worked on both drama and documentary projects, with credits including the Irish-language feature The Quiet Girl (2022), Fréwaka (2025), North Circular (2022) and Stolen (2023).
Murphy won the Irish Academy award for Best Editor for The Quiet Girl, which received Oscar and BAFTA nominations for Best International Feature Film and awards at the Berlin International Film Festival. He has received further Irish Academy nominations for editing in 2018 and 2026. His work has premiered at festivals including Sundance, Berlin, SXSW and Toronto.
