Biography
John Schneider is an American actor, director and singer. Born on 8 April 1960 in Mount Kisco, New York, he began acting in childhood and gained early notice with a small role in the 1977 film Smokey and the Bandit.
He is best known for playing Bo Duke in the series The Dukes of Hazzard (1979–1985) and Jonathan Kent in Smallville (2001–2011), where he also directed episodes including "Talisman". Schneider has appeared in numerous other television series and films, including Desperate Housewives (2004) and Sydney White (2007).
Alongside acting, he released several country music albums and singles in the 1980s, with chart-topping tracks such as "I've Been Around Enough to Know" and "Country Girls". He appeared as a contestant on the 2026 series The Great American Road Rally: Celebrity Edition.
