Biography
Johnny Sheffield (born John Matthew Sheffield Cassan) was an American actor. He was born on 11 April 1931 in Pasadena, California, and died on 15 October 2010 in Chula Vista, California. He is best known for portraying Boy, the adopted son of Tarzan and Jane, in eight films between 1939 and 1947, beginning with Tarzan Finds a Son! (1939).
Sheffield appeared as Bobs in the 1939 musical Babes in Arms. He also played the childhood version of Knute Rockne in Knute Rockne, All American (1940). Between 1949 and 1955 he starred as Bomba the Jungle Boy in a series of twelve low-budget films. His screen career ended in 1955.
The son of actor Reginald Sheffield, he earned a business degree from UCLA and later worked in contracting and real estate. He was married to Patricia Sheffield from 1959 until his death and had three children.
