Biography

Jonathan Fensom is a London-based set and costume designer who has worked in theatre, opera, ballet and film for over thirty years. His film credits include costume design on Tomorrow La Scala! (2002). He has also designed costumes for features including Making Noise Quietly (2019) and Pond Life (2018), and served as assistant costume designer on Enola Holmes 2 (2022).

In theatre Fensom has designed more than twenty productions at Shakespeare’s Globe and numerous West End and Broadway shows. His Broadway credits include scenic and costume design for Journey’s End (2007), Pygmalion (2007) and Farinelli and the King (2017). He received a Tony Award nomination for Journey’s End and two Tony nominations plus a Drama Desk Award for Farinelli and the King. He was associate scenic designer on the original Broadway production of The Lion King.
