Biography
Jordan Harper is an American writer and screenwriter. Born in Springfield, Missouri, in 1976, he worked as a music journalist and film critic before entering television writing.
He joined the Warner Bros. Writers Workshop and wrote for the series The Mentalist (2008), serving as story editor, executive story editor and co-producer across multiple seasons. He later contributed episodes to Gotham (2014) and Hightown (2020), and wrote the screenplay for the film She Rides Shotgun (2025), adapted from his own novel.
Harper is the author of crime novels including She Rides Shotgun (2017), which won the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best First Novel. He has also written the television films L.A. Confidential (2019) and episodes of the upcoming series Criminal.
