Biography
Josef Kemr was a Czech actor. He was born on 20 June 1922 in Prague and died there on 15 January 1995.
Kemr trained at a commercial school in Prague before joining a touring theatre company in 1942. He later worked at theatres in Kladno and Prague, including the Municipal Theatres of Prague, before becoming a member of the National Theatre's drama company in 1965, where he remained until his death.
He appeared in numerous films, including The Emperor and the Golem (1951), Marketa Lazarová (1967) as Kozlík, The Cremator (1969), Witchhammer (1970), Marecek, Pass Me the Pen! (1976) and Give the Devil His Due (1985). He received the Thalia Award for lifetime achievement in 1993.
