Biography
Joseph F. Coffey (1915–2000) was an American cinematographer and camera operator. He worked primarily in the camera department from the 1950s onwards, advancing to director of photography for a small number of features in the late 1960s.
Coffey served as director of photography on Up the Down Staircase (1967), The Producers (1967) and For Love of Ivy (1968), and on an episode of the anthology series ABC Stage 67 (1966). He later worked as a camera operator on films including Fame (1980), Kramer vs. Kramer (1979, as associate director of photography), Birdy (1984) and Eddie Murphy Raw (1987).
